Green Cards
Adjustment of Status
Adjustment of status is the process used when a noncitizen is physically present in the United States and applies for lawful permanent resident status. Adjustment of status saves the noncitizen from having to return to their home country to complete visa processing.
Consular Processing
If the noncitizen is already outside of the United States, they may apply at a U.S. Department of State embassy or consulate abroad for an immigrant visa so that they can come to the United States and be admitted as a permanent resident. Additionally, if the noncitizen is inside the US, depending their circumstance, they may need to return to their home country to obtain an immigrant visa and return with the visa before their Green Card will be issued. In both instances, this is referred to as consular processing.
I will highly recommend Michael Presti as your Immigration lawyer. He helped us with our Green Card. He help us through it all and gave us steps to take. He gave us the best advise. He took care of us and was very helpful. If I would have to do all over again, wouldn’t hesitate in doing it again with Michael.
CarlosI had the great pleasure of working with Michael Presti over the last year. He helped me successfully replace my permanent Green Card. He has been wonderful, supportive and gave me accurate advice every time I needed assistance. He cheerfully guided me during a stressful time when I had to travel outside the United States of America and I had issues with my legal name after a divorce. Every time I e-mailed or called him with a question or a concern, he responded promptly and made the process enjoyable.
MaryAll around great man and attorney. Couldn’t ask for better representation, Mr. Presti gave me the service needed for immigration in a respectful and timely manner. Kept me informed the whole way through and assured me he would handle all matters regarding my green card. I am very thankful to have him representing me and couldn’t ask for a more caring attorney.
